Following WWII, the Canadian corvette Sudbury was converted into a Deep-Sea
Tug by PAcific Mills. Two years later she was sold to Island Tug and Salvage
of Victoria BC where she was to become famous for a series of rescues
off the North Pacific Coast. Later she was involved in the regular transport
of US aircraft carriers to Japan for scrapping before her accidental destructiion
due to a watchman forgetting to check the water level in the boilers ..
hours later it burst and Sudbury caught fire.
Pat Norris covers the history of theSubdury and her consort, Sudbury
