Anatomy of the ship: The Flower Class Corvette Agassiz
by John McKay & John Harland
Vanwell Publishing, 1993
I would have to say that this is probably the best volume in the AOTS
series. It includes pretty well everything that one needs to construct
a model of a short focsle Flower. The book follows typical AOTS format
in having a short text section that covers the design, then 29 photos.
The bulk of the book is made up of drawings - drawings of almost every
detail of the Flowers. The only item I was unable to find detail drawings
of were the vents around the funnel. Other than that, this is the primary
reference for my model of HMCS Wetaskiwin. There are also basic plans for
an Increased Endurance Flower, and - joy of joys - a Castle Class corvette.
A very useful item are the isometric drawings showing the ship from both
the bow and the stern, these allow one to visualize the shapes a little
more clearly than from just plain plan views.
I acquired my copy in trade from a fellow corvette list member. However
it is available through Warshipbooks.com
